Submitted press releases may be accepted or rejected at the discretion of the editor for compliance with the policy of Star Publishing.

Press releases announcing a fundraiser benefiting the community may be published in the Hermantown Star at no charge.

Fundraising events held to benefit an individual or family with expenses due to tragedy may be published in the Hermantown Star at no charge.

If an event does not charge participants, the Hermantown Star will publish an announcement in Area Happenings or Sports Briefs.
 
Religious events will be placed in the Faith Happenings section. Specific ticket prices will be published for philanthropic fundraisers only.   
 
The Hermantown Star supports the role of service clubs in the community and welcomes press releases from these organizations. The Hermantown Star reserves the right to edit information to conform to press release policy.
 
Moneymaking events for companies or individuals are not press releases and will be directed to an ad representative for consideration of a display ad subject to Hermantown Star advertising rates.  

The Hermantown Star offers reduced display ad rates for public, non-profit organizations.

Events announced in press releases or display ads will be covered by the Hermantown Star based on staff availability.
