Brendan Commerford, a senior at Hermantown High School, received two state awards through his Secondary Technical Center (STC) class and will be attending the Business Professionals of America (BPA) 2010 National Leadership Conference, “Shoot for Success,” in Anaheim, Calf, May 4-9.
Commerford placed first in Network Administration using Microsoft and fifth in C++ Programming.
STC chapter members will join over 5,000 other conference delegates from across the nation to participate in national level skills competitions, workshops, general sessions and national officer candidate campaigns and elections.
The event will not be all work and no play as students will get to experience the Anaheim area and visit various sites during their stay.
BPA is a national organization for high school, college and middle school students preparing for careers in business and information technology.
The organization’s activities and programs complement classroom instruction by giving students practical experience through application of the skills learned at school.
